Introducing Claritee Groups CIC
Introducing Claritee’s CIC
An age-old quote that has floated around since 1860, was famously written by the philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson; “The first wealth is health”. Many variations of this quote have become popular as it speaks to the truth of our priorities. Our overall health is the key to all of the joy, love and success we deserve to enjoy in this lifetime. However, with the stresses of everyday life, this priority can often be neglected and then forgotten. Over a period of time, abandoning good health practices can only lead to a domino effect of negative outcomes.
Overall health is a combination of the mental and physical, with the decline of the latter often being the warning to many that their health needs reviewing. Yet, it is so important to invest time into our mental health as our mindsets and headspaces are where we dwell all day, every day. Thankfully the topic of mental health is becoming a mainstream conversation. It is vital that as a society, we keep the spotlight on mental health maintenance in order to support one another and improve for future generations.
Claritee ensures that all of its endeavours, whether big or small, contribute to our ultimate mission which is to assist and support individuals on their mental health and well-being journeys. The issue of mental health is a huge beast to tackle as one organisation, hence our decision to hone in on creating a company that can provide services for the area of life where we spend a great portion of our time, the working sphere.
Claritee consists of three elements that we offer as services via our national dry corporate events, bespoke team training programmes and individual well-being mentoring. We are also proud to announce that we have established ourselves as a CIC. Our objectives for the CIC embody the ultimate mission we were founded on, to support and improve the wellbeing and mental health of as many people as possible and in particular, those that are particularly vulnerable.
At Claritee, we feel so passionate about making a lasting change in regard to the improvement of mental health and wellbeing for the greater collective. We hope that our CIC sector can grow exponentially and achieve unlimited success with all of our stated objectives. Our mindsets and experiences shape us as people, and we are all entitled to make our lives as enjoyable as possible. As a CIC, we will be focussed on the importance of mental health for those that are struggling as we believe that one’s health is the ultimate wealth.

What Is a CIC?
A community interest company (CIC) is a particular type of company found in the charity genre of registered companies. First introduced in the UK in 2005, CIC’s were created for enterprises focused on social issues where profits and accumulated assets are used for the benefit of the public.
Although structured corporately as an average limited company, the activities of the CIC must adhere to the clear stipulation of benefitting the community. The surpluses of the business are reinvested into the company to contribute to the continuation of its mission or directly to the social causes of the company. Motivated by its community purpose, it is a legal requirement that assets are used to better the public with a certain Maximum Dividend Cap and a cap on performance-related interest payments. With this model in place, it omits any possibility of maximising profit for either owners or shareholders. A community interest company is overseen by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies, ensuring its legitimacy.
The Advantages of a CIC
With a clear, committed goal to better the community as a whole, CICs can be established in a wide scope of issues either socially or environmentally. In today's society with the large scale of areas that are in need of awareness and support, CICs play a pivotal role in creating positive change.
Through the use of a business setup in the form of a limited company, the setup and maintenance of a CIC is much less complicated in comparison to that of a charity. The CIC model also allows for a wider range of social aims as their community interest test allows broader options in relation to the regulations and checks for charities.
The flexibility surrounding CICs allows them to operate either locally, regionally, countrywide or even globally. This allows CICs to scale up and ultimately maximise their public good.
